Ochtinská Aragonit Cave belongs to the world heritage of UNESCO. It is situated in Revúcka Highlands (Revúcka vrchovina) on the north western slope of the hill Hrádok by the road between the towns of Jelšava and Štítnik. The cave was discovered accidently in 1954, at the time when people were digging mines. Out of its total length 300 m, 230 m have been open to public since 1972.

The cave rooms were created by processes of atmospheric water in underground limestone. Aragonite formations were created in the underground hollows. Especially the formation called the Hearth of Hrádok (Srdce Hrádku), which with its spikes and needles is a unique natural monument. Its white color is in a strong contrast with a blue background color of the limestone.

In front of the entrance there is an entrance object with a parking place.
